For protection
and something to stand on to reach the roof we have added a set of custom
alloy sidesteps. Designed to fit on existing mountings on the vehicle these
steps not only look good but will prevent stones and mud being sprayed up
the side of the car damaging the plastic mouldings. They are tough enough
to prevent damage from rocks etc. Also they will keep away car doors in shopping
centre carparks where my cars have sustained more damage than all the 4WDing
we do $825
A 2300kg Trailboss towbar finishes off the rear and gives a bit more protection
when climbing out of gullies $530 fitted
& wired.
A Thomas Bullet air pump
permanently mounted under the bonnet is always there to reinflate tyres when
required. A tried and tested pump we have had one of these under the bonnets
of our vehicles for years and have found them to be exceptionally reliable
and efficient. Connect the hose and a flick of the switch is all that is
needed. Fits very neatly into this space in front of the air cleaner
$350.
After having a Chuckwagon storage
system in our previous vehicle we really looked forward to delivery of a
brand new unit specifically designed for the NM Pajero and geared towards
our new 60 litre Engel fridge. The unit fits exactly into the space available.
There is still space around both sides and on top of the unit for additional
cargo. Here you can see the unit in its closed position
$2758
Drop down the very practical
easy clean table and you have access to the eight large drawers and the fridge.
The drawers sit one behind the other so you can put items that are not used
often at the back leaving the front for those things that you need all the
time. No need to carry a washing up bowl as one of the drawers is more than
adequate. And they also make good containers for collecting water from creeks
etc.
One movement of the fridge
slide lock and the 60 litre fridge slides out effortlessly on its rollers.
This is an easy job even when the fridge is fully loaded. We use a dual reading
maximum/minimum thermometer with our fridge so you can easily check to see
if there has ever been a problem with fridge temperature. Food poisoning
when you are hundreds of kilometres from medical facilities is something
you don't want.
Now the Pajero has a removable
rear seat that stows away under the floor, there is now a handy storage area
that we can do something useful with. In our case we decided to use this
space for a water tank. We have here a 45 litre stainless steel water tank
with electrical pumping system that is easily accessed by removing one drawer
of the storage system. The tank and pump can be easily removed when not in
use and the car returned to its standard seating configuration
$695.
