Patrol GQ/GU Turbosystem
In 1988, Nissan released the GQ Patrol and it soon became one of the most popular larger four wheel drives on the Australian market. The diesel version of this vehicle is fitted with the very reliable TD42 engine.
Very shortly after the release of the GQ patrol, Toyota released the lHZ series of Turbo diesel engines with power outputs superior to the Nissan.
This created a desire from many prospective and existing Nissan owners for an improvement in the performance of the diesel Patrol. Dynamic Turbocharger Services, the largest turbocharger sales and service organisation in Australia, recognised the need for a turbosystem to suit many diesel passenger vehicles and began working on one. And with 27 years experience - more than all their competitors put together - you can be sure the end result is excellent. DTS Turbosystems utilise technology on the "cutting edge". They decided to use the Mitsubishi TD05H Turbocharger - sharing many of its components with the World Rally proven Mitsubishi Lancer and Subaru Imprezza Turbos - as the basis for the new product. The result - for you - is a turbocharger that has a larger flow range and more durability than any of its competitors, resulting in superior torque and response. This in turn translates into safer passing, less driver fatigue and, in most cases, improved fuel economy.
DTS turbosystem features include:
- Single piece iron exhaust manifold.
- Mandrel bent 3 inch exhaust pipe, connecting to stock exhaust system (a higher mass-flow 2l/2 or 3 inch system is available on request)
- Powder coated steel and aluminium air ducts - more durable than rubber.
- Custom built water cooled Mitsubishi TDO5H turbocharger - readily serviced at any one of DTS’s many locations.
- Braided stainless steel water and oil lines.
- Easy fitting by any qualified mechanic with correct tools and equipment.
- "Second to none" warranty policy backed by the largest network of company owned facilities in Australia.
- Manufacture of many components is "in house" resulting in greater quality control and a lower overall price to you, the customer.
- Higher torque rise at lower rpm than any competing product.
